Course Objective

This course provides a student an understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the airside environment and below

– wing operations. Students will get familiarized with safety procedures on the ramp in order to create safety awareness.

This course is recommended for:
personnel who are already working at the airport and are involved in airside operations and aircraft handling students who have completed a course in airside operations and aircraft handling
This is a certification course for personnel who are already working at the airport involved in airside operations and safe handling of the aircrafts. After successful completion of the course, a student can join the safety department of ground handling agents & airport operators.

  • Airside safety: safety at the airside, threats to airside safety, safety management system, airport design-impact on safety, manual handling techniques (for eg. the proper way to lift)
  • Your safety: basic health & safety instructions, your safety personal protective equipment (P.P.E), your role in airside safety
  • Safety precautions: checking ground service equipment for safety, around aircraft, risk on & near aircraft, adverse weather conditions, aircraft refuelling, fuelling with passengers on board
  • Emergency situations: being prepared, emergency responses, airport fire training, fire prevention, collision & accidents
