Founder's Message

In early 1990s, with the ushering in of IT era, there were new opportunities created in aviation sector for outsourcing many of the different processes. Aviation sector involves more than merely flying aircraft, and requires a huge pool of trained manpower having domain knowledge of many different facets of this sector. There were commonalities in the IT platforms and processes between aviation, travel, tourism and hospitality sectors. Thus, I felt that providing the right training young men and women would enable them to easily work in any of these. With this vision in mind, Bird Academy was established in 1998. As the Bird Group has hands-on experience in various verticals of aviation, tourism and hospitality, we are constantly updated on the practical needs of the industry, and we can thus train our students to meet the changing needs. Bird Academy thus imparts the latest knowledge and platform knowhows to its students.

For more than two decades, our alumni are serving the industry, not only in India but across the globe. Some of them have risen to senior positions. It gives me tremendous satisfaction whenever I’m travelling and at an airport someone walks up to me and proudly informs me that they are an alumni of the academy, and are now working with a particular airport or airline. There could be no greater reward for a teacher, which I consider myself to be apart from all the other hats that I wear as I also get to give back my knowledge to younger generation.

We at the Bird Academy are constantly looking at new avenues, new challenges and opportunities. The Covid Pandemic has also taught the industry the need for more contact free travel, which could be useful for students to learn.
We strive to do better tomorrow than we did yesterday, and with this spirit we move forward, ever onwards.
