Chairperson

Mrs. Radha Bhatia serves as the Chairperson of Bird Group, the largest and diversified travel conglomerate, which specializes in aviation and hospitality.

Mrs. Bhatia completed her schooling from Sophia Girls School with a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Raghunath Girls College, Meerut.

Having started her career as a teacher she has a passion to train young girls and boys and mentors and guides young upcoming entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Radha Bhatia is the force behind The Bird Academy, an IATA and DGCA approved travel & aviation institute formed in the year 1998. Since its inception the institute creates a pool of talent for aviation and travel industry and has constantly enriched and enlarged its activities and offered more than 20,000 trained professionals who are gainfully employed in India & abroad.

Having been inspired by Senior Representative of FAA, Mrs. Bhatia was successful in forming the Women In Aviation International (India Chapter). Women in Aviation International, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career. She was unanimously elected as the President of WAI India Chapter and has inspired more than 500 girls across India to show them the path of various verticals in aviation and has successfully convinced other leading aviation corporations like Air India, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Air Asia, GMR Group, KPMG and many others to take this initiative forward.

Under her guidance the Bird Academy set up the first Multi Skill Development Centre in the country for the Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council. This centre is under the Airport Authority of India CSR initiative in collaboration with National Skill Development Centre and Bird Academy provides training in Aviation courses & training to the unemployed youth of Punjab & neighboring states.

A recipient of many prestigious accolades, she also holds the distinction of being awarded The Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award for nine consecutive. Shri. Atal Bihari Bajpai conferred the prestigious award to her.

Delhi Management Association has bestowed Mrs. Bhatia with ‘Women Entrepreneur-Life Time Achievement’ award for the year 2018-19.

Besides her wide range of professional achievements, Mrs. Bhatia is a dedicated philanthropist and works relentlessly for the cause of underprivileged children. She has also been awarded the Social Responsibility Award 2015 at the India Excellence Awards because of her valuable contribution to the society.

A woman of myriad interests also gives equal importance to family – Mrs. Bhatia is a keen lover of music and art, indulging in painting and playing the sitar. She enjoys gardening and cooking over the weekend and spending time with her grandchildren. Married to Vijay Bhatia – she has two sons, Ankur and Gaurav Bhatia.
